Website Evals

WEBSITE EVALS

After reading the 3 articles, I was able to spot some similarities and differences as well. The most notable similarity that I was able to pick out is that all three articles are secondary sources in that they get their information from other sources. This is where the information becomes vulnerable to being vandalized or pranked. One of the differences that I noticed from the reading is the lengths or size of the materials. Another difference is that two of the articles gave different accounts of the doctor’s name and one even mentioned that Dr. Vacanti was an anesthesiologist. Another notable difference is that the ABC science article mentioned a short history of the study before the current study.

Of the three articles, I believe the most credible article is the one by ABC Science. My belief is prompted by several factors. One of these is that Dr. Karl did a thorough job is investigating the  “ear mouse” made notable because it mentioned a short history of the study conducted by Charles Vacanti, the brother of Joseph. It even goes on to name facts about the study making it even more realistic. It even shares about the work done on Sean McCormack who was born without bones or cartilage on the left side of his chest.

After this activity, I am now aware that truth never comes with the very first article you read or your very first impression. With that comes the assumption that not all articles are relevant and correct. We must make time to sit down and weigh in on our options of articles so that we get the most accurate information we can get for our personal uses. It is always good to shop around for the best product before making a final decision and selection.
